"What lace?" THIS lace.

Why the HD Film lace is the best quality lace on the market

Hi beauties, it’s me, Denise. How are your wigs holding up today?! If you’re one of my loyal beauties, welcome back! To my new client, hold your wig… but only if it’s a Beauty & the Beat custom closure wig, of course.

Wigs are life. Period. I can’t tell you how many I have at this point because I lost count. But, please know that I have a wig that matches all 3894289249 of my moods, because why not? You know how girls on Instagram say, “you guys have been asking me about this” but no one asked? Well, you can trust me when I say that the girls ask me about my wigs all the time! Otherwise, this business would not exist.

Before you buy one of our ready-to-wear closure wigs or have one customized, here's a quick lesson on “what lace”. What lace? Huh? Okay, if you follow the kids on Instagram, Twitter, or even TikTok, you had to see this exchange before:

*Girl posts image of her new wig with the caption “What lace?!”*

*Her followers gas her up with a million and one fire emojis and “yassssssssssssssss!”*

*The real ones think to themselves, "that lace!" While the haters go the extra mile and forward your post to their close friends to say the same.*

The joke ends up on you, the girl who didn’t realize that her lace was showing.

What is a “lace” even?

There are many reasons that this can happen but for this post, I’ll focus on what’s missing in your wig game. An HD Film lace, that’s what. If this is your first time at the rodeo, a “lace” is the base or foundation of the many wigs that you see on the market today. The lace is flexible, easy on the scalp and hair, and blends well with a variety of complexions. It's thinner and designed to look as “natural” as possible. Two of the most popular laces used in wigs today are Swiss and French. I’m not saying that they’re bad… I’m saying that when you use them, you shouldn’t be too confident asking, “what lace”? That’s all.

Now, let’s talk about the HD Film lace which is the foundation for all our wigs. Unlike the Swiss and French laces, HD Film lace is thinner and more versatile. As a darker-skinned black woman who serves many black women in The Bahamas and abroad, the versatility of this lace is key! Here are a few other reasons why I chose this lace as the base of all my frontals, closures, and closure wigs:

1. It melts into your scalp

Have you ever seen stylists talk about “that melt”?! Well, it is likely that they use HD Film lace for their wigs. When you apply adhesive to this lace, it appears to “melt” into your skin rendering it invisible. Yes gawd, that melt!

2. You can use it with or without adhesive

If you’re not a glue girl but still want the range of the HD Film lace, no worries! I got you. This lace works with glue or glueless wigs. Just make sure that you install yours properly and if you’re in Nassau, book an appointment with me!

3. Coloring this lace yields the best results

One of the key things about this lace is that it takes color well. You can tint it for darker complexions or leave it as is for lighter complexions. It’s totally up to you.

4. Made for that high definition setting

The reason that we call this lace “HD Film” is that it’s used most in the film industry. Now, you know that lighting and cameras can be very unforgiving. So if this lace is good enough to use on set, under harsh lighting, then it will be even better to use for your everyday beat!

Now that you learned the four most important things about HD Film lace, it’s time to shop our growing collection of closure wigs! If you don’t see a wig that works for you, we can make a custom wig for you, no problem. This beat shouldn't have to wait, so don’t delay, beauty.
